Never Shall I Forget Him

Never shall I forget him
The one my mother married
Which has caused our family to break apart.
Never shall I forget his hand
That closed into a fist and nearly touched my brother
Till I stepped in.
Never shall I forget his voice that walks inside my head, as I cry myself to bed.
Never shall I forget that day that my mother married him,
Even if I wanted to I can’t because that was the day my childhood dreams vanished with the
Whooshing wind and new fears appeared from the ashes
Never.

My mother was married to an abussive man who has hurt my family in so many ways, and he was the reason why my sister ran away from home at the age of 16.
