My Song
I am a song,
A melody carried on the wind,
But do not think me quiet.
Do not assume my ability to
Speak softly to the notes,
And coax sweet nothings into the air
Is evidence of shyness.
No.
I am an upbeat roar.
Listen to my heart,
My vibrating soul,
The very essence of what I am will
Ring
In your ears,
Deafen your doubts,
Open you to my world,
My world of harmonies…
I breathe rhythm and tune,
My lungs aching without it.
It sustains me.
Music is my blood.
It bubbles in my veins,
Makes my heart burst
And my fingers tingle,
Music is my everything.
It is my solace,
My friend,
And in the darkness
It is my light.
I am what my song has made me.
