The world is moving on
Leaving me behind
Sometimes I feel like I'm just watching
I'm in a movie
The world is tonight's premier
All the glittering dresses and perfect faces
Walking proud and tall
Inside the screen

Sometimes
It's an art museum
Beautiful things around me
Their enchanting details
Luring me in
Daring me with their Don't Touch signs
Just enough so I have to think
Is it worth it

Or I feel that
Life is a zoo
Exotic animals and beautiful creatures
Fluid movement making them seem unbelievable
Daunting me with shiny coats of gold
Streaked with diamonds

But I can only look
I can't touch
I want to touch
I want to reach through the glass
Wild coats of color
Vivid lines and curves
Traced by the slightest stroke of my fingertips

The feel of beauty
Finally mine
