The sky was red, like a warm sunset, but it was cold and darker. There was a black cloud swarming like locusts in the sky, blacking out the light. Leaving us alone, in the dark. It all happened in seconds, it was never when anyone expected it to be. I saw peoples bodies turn to ash in the pose they were in when it reached them. I, like any and every human being around me, ran for my life. Nowhere to go. Nowhere to hide. I just ran. Images of my family flashed through my head, like an old projector. None of them were around me. Tears started to pour down my face as I ran for my life, like my entire family was hidden behind a corner, inside a car, in the nearest open door, anywhere. I know it’s not true, but it is the only thing that gives me motivation to move. Suddenly, I giant black figure stood before me and before I had time to think, I ran straight into it entering complete and utter darkness.
