The Rides of Life
Life is like an amusement park,
There are many rides to take,
And you never know which one too take.
But whatever one you decide to ride,
You’ll know if it was a mistake.
There’s the rollercoaster,
Travelling in all different directions,
Ending the same every single time.
And halfway through your decision,
You can’t just stop on a dime.
Then there’s the ferris wheel,
Starts at a low point,
With the potential to get higher.
And when at the top,
Becomes a chance to transpire.
The merry-go-round is a common ride,
Going is multiple circles with no fear,
Knowing at some point, there’s a stop.
And once this happens,
Realizing there was no chance, to reach the top.
After the rides, you go to the waterpark,
Which is less exciting,
With smaller rides, that you settle for.
Because at the end of the day when your journey’s over,
You know it’s time to shut the door.
Once all the paths have been taken,
They are all in the past,
Leading you down your track.
And even though you may regret,
There’s nothing to do but look back.
