Shadows
As the year grows old and fall comes to a halt
The cold of winter starts with a jolt
And like a wave of evil overhead
Starts the beginning of the end
As the cloud of darkness moves through the sky
The people under like clueless passerby
And as they walk across the street
There is no shadow beneath their feet
Does anyone notice, does anyone care
Do they know why, do they know where
Where all the shadows went and why
Why they move across the sky
As the Sun starts to show
The shadows’ flight starts to slow
And as the Sun grows bright
The shadows fall from their flight
And as they fall to the world beneath
They take the place under people’s feet
The dark cloud begins to die
And show the bright blue open sky
