Last Night
You made me hit the full on crazy
slipped over the edge of the knife
ice burning scars deep into a lost cause
Bleeding, aching, burning, bending,
tear my skin from bones to slip out of myself for a second
crystaline darkness, darling, clothed in night
you'll never earn your butterfly wings
not if you cling to the earth with every shred of reality.
float into a soap bubble
the only prince: your soul for a clean cut.
A demon with two faces,
even wings can weigh you down.
blood blackened into yesterdays newsprint.
could anyone hear me if I screamed?
throat raw with words whispered into darkness.
cling tight to iron bars,
the only way out is giving in.
