Practical Application
She’s teaching him arithmetic
She said it was her mission
She kissed him once
She kissed him twice
“That’s addition”
As she added
Kiss by kiss
In silent satisfaction
He sweetly gave the kisses back
He asked her,
“Is that subtraction?”
She kissed him
He kissed her
Without explanation
Both smiled
“Now that’s multiplication”
Then suddenly her brother appeared
He made a quick decision
He kicked that kid three blocks away
And said,
“I always loved long division”
