Beyond the Fence
Far in the distance
Beyond our small fence
Lies another blue world
Safe, blessed, immense
The grass flows: long, dark, and green
Covered in all but no spot unclean
The mockingbirds chirp, fly, and gaily dance
While in the cornfields little rabbits happily prance
The flowers do not ever dim
The trees, they do not lose their limbs
The unending sky spreads wide its arms
Thus all below will be safe from harm
The people will never grow sad
Because there is so much to be had
Life is so easy, so gentle, so fair
Where all live in laughter, love, and care
What a world!
So full of joy
What a world!
No one can destroy
But there sits the fence
the boundary supreme
keeping us safely bound
from our impossible dreams.
