*Our Destiny*
Hold my hand my love, and sing with me a bold duet
Perhaps if our hearts we intertwine, the world will stop and listen.
How to reveal our glowing light? To unearth this, too lovely to be locked away within us?
You and I, we have come far, and now it is time to stand up for love
For what is right and true, and to proclaim salvation from the streets.
Come with me to the river, where we may drink from the golden waters
And learn again what it is to be a child.
To reminisce in shallow pools and uncover secrets as we tread the deeper, darker waters.
It’s hard to get it out. As it is hard to reach inside
And draw from broken melodies that which is so bold and so true
Something to bring a revelation, something to change the world
Something to truly touch and turn and testify.
How may we go about this? Who will listen, if we succeed?
When there is a light and a passion so bright that the embers tumble out onto the ground,
To the world it makes sense to douse the flames and smother the start of a spark.
But what if we caress this dying flame with our breath of life, and allow it gradually to grow?
Maybe then the earth would see
And perhaps something great would come of our destiny.
