Ghosts
Ghosts
A single word
With a single meaning
Which sparks interest in all peoples;
There are the believers
Who smell the fear in others
The ones who are not afraid
But entranced;
Then comes those looking for logic
The parents you might say
Looking for something to prove there is nothing there
Looking for an explanation
To silence their frightened children;
And finally the skeptics
Those tough people who say they aren’t afraid
Yet truly petrified by the very idea
That people could come back to see you
When they are dead.
I know such things
For I have seen drawers open without a person to open them
For I have felt the icy breeze down my spine
For I have spoken to
Ghosts
Whomever you may be
Don’t ignore the possibility
That everything is not as it seems
Ghosts
