The way it felt
To smile,
To laugh,
To wear a crown
And furry pelt
Remember
The way it was
To jump,
To breathe,
To kiss the stars
And sit in the sun
Remember
When adoration
And inspiration
Stood in place of
Mutilation?
Remember that?
Because I didn't
I'd forgotten
Hugs and kisses
Little things and
Silly wishes
But there came a time
With reason and rhyme
With moments
And memories
I call mine
A new beginning
That left me grinning
That planted strength
That grew in length
Grew into a light
That shined all through that night
