Crocodile Tongues

I touched a crocodile’s tongue.
It was silky,
yet rough.
His jaws were held open,
as I smoothed his teeth.
His beady, black eyes,
showed no mercy.
I touched a crocodile’s tongue,
and I’m writing this,
with the same hand,
that was in the mouth,
of a terrifying, yet helpless beast.
