&quot;Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.&quot;<br /> -Victor Hugo

Trapped in
a kaleidoscope
space.
Press your ear
To the hard
metal boxes,
where they
keep us.
Forever.
Dusted with age.
Listen.
Careful.
Don’t make
a sound, or
they will hear you.
I’ve seen it
happen
before.
Some people
try to save
us, but
their jagged
thoughts
slice
our
endless
silence.
An interruption.
They are
heard.
We have crumbled
and hollowed
in hard
metal boxes.
We have become the gone,
the nothing.
Just run,
don’t let
them catch
you.
Or you’re
next.

I honestly have no idea what inspired me to write this poem! I had talked about it with my English teacher beforehand, and I guess the words just came to me. Then, after an edit
here and there, 'In Boxes' was born...

I agree with Hanban12, this poem really left me  thinking. I love the imagery and the vocabulary used. You are very talented, write on :D

I love this poem because of the inevitable mystery to it. A great concet because it leaves the reading thinking, especially after the threatening line at the end of the poem. Great job!

Its very good. Makes me feel like there is something im not getting. I wonder what is in those boxes... nothing? Do our jagged thoughs keep us from hearing the silent soundless nothing? Hmm..
