Should Be Flying
I thought it would be liberating
Knowing you aren't alone
When you are fighting to survive and you can feel someone fighting next to you.
When you can laugh in the face of death with your best friend next to you, it should be a blessing
Every lost soul who you meet can be looked upon as a blessing and an omen you are not alone
But it is not
It is a double cross to bear
Suffering alone is a terrible thing
So hard
So empowering in itself
This suffering of yourself is in no way a choice
But when you suffer you suffer with yourself and yourself only.
But to see a bright light burning out, burning out with you, it hurts.
It tears apart the remainder of your unbroken soul.
You know this light can outshine everyone but right now her light is fading
Fading out like yours.
And you can't save it anymore than you can save yourself.
