Symphony
Beautiful words,
they jumble together in my head,
a symphony only I hear.
Tap tap tapping my feet to the tune,
letting them spiral around me,
through me.
Laughing melodies carried along side a
melancholy chorus,
balanced with perfect harmony,
the sweetest of sounds.
Notes pour from my mind,
overflowing their auditorium,
finding their place upon my page,
between turquoise lines and
math problems,
between pencil smudges
and cat doodles,
settling down and becoming friendly
with algebraic neighbors,
and meowing friends.
They calm,
silent now, save for the odd chime
here and there
as I close my notebook,
zip up my bag and leave with the
ringing of their tunes still playing in my mind.
