Silence, absolute and dead

No words come forth,

No thought will fully form.

Insecurities squashed and buried,

things previously massacred….

are resurrected to form a barrier of repression.

New confidence claws at the barrier

Bangs! against the wall of insecure silence.

It tries to rise, with all it’s might!

Suffocating from the war raging in my throat,

from dry lips, chocking coughs come out.

When driven to the final stretches of war,

time saves the weak, it ends the battle.

The casualty rate is high.

Pride and Confidence severely wounded.

The insecurities return to their dormant state,

But hope warns them not to smile….

their small victory will be remembered forever.

And will not be repeated.
