capsule
it’s funny how we forget things, the simplest of
things that change our life for good or the contrary
yet we don’t seem to lose the irrelevant
embarrassments, heartaches, failures
memories tightly locked in our capsule
never offered to our future;
we lose track of the moments of Sweet Prevail
the times when we, indeed won
the battle has already been fought
yet we love the smell of our own victory,
if only for a tick of the clock
the clock that drives our lives
further away from mortality
