I Remember
I remember when we gazed at the Stars,
At the moon;
It seemed that night
Our souls were in tune
I remember when you said
"I will always Love you"
But it seems that didn't matter
Your words were dead and untrue
I remember all the pet names
When you ran your fingers through
My hair
And now that it's all said and Done
You claim I never cared
I remember all the sobbing
All the weeping and the sorrow
I wanted you to love me
Every today, every tomorrow
I remember now how many, many Times
You promised empty words;
Recited fancy lines
I wish I could remember
My life before you came
But I see through broken glass
Nothing will ever be the same
