Within Myself
Stop
Gaze
Feed the ground
Run my hair upon its smooth gravel
Taste the birds flying above
Oh, I long to crawl
Fluid as the vast landscape
And as crooked as my teeth
I’ll swim among the ashen concrete
Nibble the inner thigh
A roll beyond where my eyes can see
In the warm winter snow
And the arid rain forests
Stand within the darkest tree
Let your mind be what’s desolate
Around the rim, toes on the edge
Jump?
Perhaps one day
Land in the soft pine needles
Never forget the color of their eyes
