What does it matter when
"I'm only 16 and they never work
and there'll be others"

It's been a while since I wrote that
Many months have passed me by
True enough, there have been others.
But they couldn't hold my time.

I told myself it wasn't you
It was simply me
But really there's no difference
I can't escape it
And I can't have one without the other
Even when I'm forced to

Oh, Love, are you reading this?
My secret fear realized?
The words I wrote for only you
Never meant to pass your eyes

I've written too many apologies
To give them another line
I just hope that all of these
Are more than a waste of time

"ooooh love" she said and maybe
"ooooh love" you sighed
And turned over with his arms around you
And it never bothered me before so why should it now?

Your others turned into one
My one changed into none
I tried my luck with others
But I found there's only one.

The author's comments:
I decided to revisit and flesh out the poems from my work "Paragon." I ask you to read that as well, as it gets the original meaning better.

I wish this site didn't hate quotation marks so much.
