When I told you I was fine -I lied.
I know the truth.
I know you don't honestly like me.
You put on an act.
All because I'm the one who
'Could use a friend'
'Is having a hard time'
'Needs help and advice'
You talk like we've been friends forever.
Like you know my dark secrets.
I know you're doing it because it's 'The right thing'
I know you'll tell 'Them' everything I say.
I know it's the price eventually I'll pay.
I keep my problems and thoughts inside.
I smile and laugh, I let my true self hide.
When I told you I was fine -I lied.

This poem is really good to teens, I believe because around this time we are trying to figure out who we really are, and the kind of poeple we really want to hang around with, but since afraid of being rejected we put on a act to say a fake smile, an over all really good poem

I COMPLETELY RELATE!!! I have a friend and she acts like she's my sister! I have a friend who I am like sisters with already, but this one friend of mine was like "I think we'er like sisters" and I was thinking... ummmm Then what's my middle name? you don't even realy know me! But I said "Yea. sure." I din't know what to do about it.
