A Sailor Returns Home
Home bound feeling
Fly high in the air
Bring in the morning breeze
On white washed flanks
Tumble among blue flowers
Tipped in white
The horizon, ours alone to view
Hues of blue tossed with green
Form this summer story
But far off
Brown and eggshell
This journey.
It nears its close
The white-feathered sentinels
Guide us in
I reach out, over the balcony
You reach out the window
Of our modest abode
Our eyes lock
Though we cant see each other… yet
I’m home.
