HEAT WAVE
Stale air covers my nostrils
A bead of sweat dripping down the side of my face
One step outside and I’m on fire
No one moves
All stays still
And dry
And hot
Only the inside is heaven
Compared to the he** outside
Fry an egg on the sidewalk
And breakfast is served
Too hot to even have thoughts
Oh how we wish for winter
