For the third night in a row.
Up, listening to music,
Reading books,
Contemplating.
One hour
Thirty-six minutes ago
Would have been
Preferable
For sleep.
12:40 AM
And my eyes are wide open
For the third night in a row.
Up, sitting, standing,
Walking, pacing,
Awake.
No hope
In sight
For the girl
Who can't keep
Her head on
Straight.
12:42 AM
Shouldn't it have been
At least fifteen minutes by now?
Up, wishing, lusting,
Dreaming without
Sleep.
One hour
Forty-two minutes ago
Would have been
Preferable
For sleep.
