To Be A Child
To be a child
Is to be free,
You can imagine
You can believe.
They love to run
To laugh and hide,
They express themselves
And are never shy.
Their little minds
Can hold so much,
Their little hands
Just want to touch.
To feel the world
Learn something new,
Lay in the grass
And smell the dew.
Their little mouths
Speak all day long,
Their voices bring us
The beauty of song.
Their little ears
Will never forget
The words you say
And the words you regret.
Their eyes are watchful
Looking everywhere,
Taking notice that
Life won’t always be fair.
To be a child
Is to be free,
You can imagine
You can believe.
