Hey You
Hey you with the moon shaped smile,
Seems that we’ve been doing this a while,
Feels new but also feels old,
Can’t change the past or what you’ve been told.
Guitar picks and cups of iced tea,
Kisses at night and talks until 3,
Dead Roses sitting in a jar
from the Valentines Day after you broke my heart.
A love letter crinkled and torn,
and a Metallica shirt well loved and well worn.
Break ups and Makeup’s and space in between,
we both have been nice and we both have been mean.
Hey you with denim blue eyes,
Your good soul is like a beautiful surprise.
Each day is better then the last,
And the future is burning brighter then the past.
Movie ticket stubs and walking to the pond,
Fishing at the lake and waking up at dawn,
Letters sent from vacations far away,
When I missed you so much I cried every day.
A birthday card with crap calligraphy,
Hand written by you so it meant so much to me.
Good times and Bad times and times we held on,
We both have been right and we both have been wrong.
Hey you,
You know who you are,
The one I love so much,
The one who stole my heart.
