A Single Flame
A single Flame-the Turks had stricken
It withered in the silence-
How could they do it to my People?
It gave off warmth
Still coldness filled the room-
My Nation had been butchered
So bright, the deep blue Flame-
No mercy for the Children
The isolated room had been affected by its rhythm
It rippled from my breath-
Armenia’s cries and pains were heard
As I rushed out
The Spark still had not ceased-
Genocide, cold murder
The Spark still burning strong-
Hope lies within my Nation’s Heart
The new, fresh Morning
Kept its Flame forever everlasting-
Armenia’s woe left a scar upon my Heart.
