The note I wrote you,

Now seems a bit harsh.

Did I send what was left of "us,"

To the bottom of a marsh?



These things I can't change,

Enclose around me now.

Troubles rearrange,

Just something I won't allow.



I'm not the type to beg,

But I'm really needing you now.

I'm not getting on my knees,

But maybe I'll whisper, "please."
