Ocean
The ocean never pleads forgiveness
or looks before crossing
or regrets her crazy recklessness.
Instead she flies her precious silver waves like kites
and lays her smiling silken blanket on the rough edges of the world
and our minds.
Laying designs upon the sand, the tips of her thousands of fingers tremble
with the force of all that energy concentrated into one little planet.
Her heart, which does exist,
is buried deep
within the mystery of her spontaneity.
We all wish
we knew all the answers.
We all wish
we never had to cry.
We are so small.
But Ocean,
she guides us with her salty tears,
showing us over and over again
that it's alright.
