Ocean Blues
my ocean was once wonderful,
full of life
a fish every inch,
a coral reef bursting with millions of species,
just waiting to be found
groups of tuna gathered to make different shapes,
crabs roamed the ocean floor,
seahorses galloped through seaweed
everything was clean
everything seemed everlasting
until the world evolved,
inventions were made
cars were created
plastic was used
and now my beautiful ocean
consists of
pollution, exhaust, garbage
all of these things only lead to destruction
the coral reefs no longer thrive with life,
most are completely destroyed
tuna and crab are rare to find,
the result of this madness has wiped out entire species
the only thing to see is
a fish stuck in a plastic container
a shark bleeding to death from its fins
whales dying on the ocean floor, only to be washed up by the waves or eaten by scavengers
they are forced to hide from the giant lifeforms with
breathing tubes and goggles
if they are caught,
nets begin surround them
and they are doomed to
a place that will never be theirs again
a place not only for fish,
but for humans
