Empty Roads
We find ourselves walking down empty roads
With the feeling of absolute nothingness to hold onto
We clasp our fists and we fight back our tears
We don’t understand how we got here
This trail is cold and lonely, and the darkest place
I think I have ever seen, but its what consumes me
It is apart of me like my heart is attached to its veins
My blood pumps, but sometimes I wish it wouldn’t
This isn’t how we could have imagined it,
Yet we still strive to go forward, if only,
If only I could stop in my tracks and turn around,
But the thought of moving backwards
Frightens me to death
