Once there was a little boy.
He could never eat.
Keeping a single meal down
for him, was an unknown feat.

His mother cooked him big, grand meals
Of steak and fish and pork.
He tried to keep these down,
but nothing seemed to work.

The doctors tried to help him
They tried and tried and tried.
but they, too, soon gave up,
So the boy sat down and cried.

He did not know what to think -
Would his life be one long fast?
He was sitting on the ground, confused.
He started pulling up the grass.

As he was pulling up the blades
He decided one last attempt
was worth pursuing.
He took up a handful of grass
And started desperately chewing.

He waited for the disappointment.
He waited for the woe.
He waited with anticipation
But experienced no tableau.

And with this
The boy realized
That for him, all meat was carrion.
And that he
Was born a vegetarian.
