INSOMNIA
The time goes by a snails pace
Taunting my tired brain
Tick, tock says the mocking clock
Chanting chronically
Can’t blame it
It’s just a piece of junk really
Nothing to get mad over
Still I can’t help but laugh deliriously
As I bash it repeatedly with my trusty hammer
Tick, tock, tick, tock
Says the dead clock
Leaving shivers down my spine
It’s dead isn’t it?
The big and little hand lie still
Yet tick, tock says the mocking clock
Chanting chronically
I whimper, I fidget, I scream
I run out the door
Run down the street
I keep running till I get run over
By an unsuspecting driver
As my body is hit and thrown like a rag doll
All I hear is the chanting of the dead clock
Repeatedly saying
Tick, tock, tick tock
