Just Plain Me?
I often feel like I’m hiding,
Like a turtle in its shell.
I’m scared to show the world who I can be,
Scared to be
Just Plain Me.
What if I stepped out from behind this veil?
Would I be much different from the person you know?
And would your opinion of me reach higher or sink low?
Sometimes I like the protection of disappearing in the crowd;
But sometimes I wonder,
What would it be like to step out?
What would it be like to step out from behind this veil?
Like the sun rising in the morning,
Would it be like a new day for me?
I wonder, what would it be like,
To be Just Plain Me?
