They lift me up
When the water’s too deep.
They steady me
When the hill’s too steep.
They call me back
When I’ve wandered off track.
They reassure me
When in confidence I lack.
They hold me
When I can’t conceal the tears.
They comfort me
When I am consumed with fears.
They laugh with me
When my heart is light and carefree.
They guide me
When the way I can no longer see.
They correct me
When I get out of line.
They cry with me
When everything isn’t fine.
They love me
When the day is bad or good.
They surround me;
And they’ve always understood.
