The Midnight Escapes the Madness of the Material World
The midnight walks through the rain unscathed,
The twilight stays equidistant from the sun
Even as the wind grows fiercer, and fiercer.
The celestial landscape remains unaffected
By the torrential downpour, the hurricane wind,
And the heart-shocking lightning that
Has the power to paralyze and mutilate
The asphalt and the inner mind.
The around us, the people unknown,
Expands and explodes into millions of stars,
Millions of miles away,
Smiling back at us,
Just like the crescent moon,
As we endure the
Heart-shock of the lightning
A shock so powerful
It leaves us wondering
Why the midnight never runs away.
