Fist unfurling, slowly uncurling
There beneath my heart
Placed between the diaphragm
And where my rib cage starts

Grasping, pulling, deep within
Crushing organs that surround
Claws inching up stiletto bones
Not a trace of grace is found

Burning yearning infection grows
Hatred laced into muscles tine
My arms stretch, fist unclench
But the mind aches with low rumbling grind

I stare you down
You look me up
A traveling whisping gaze
You look beneath my layers
Under hidden clothes
Back to forgotten days

Longing? Oh no, you are but mistaken,
This is but so much more
Burning, scorching blood
I work only to even the score

Infliction, infection this grasping hand
Known as jealousy
I take its warming grip
And smile, as you look back with hurt eyes
Longing you are for me
