Why must we listen so intently?
we're only kids
we're arrogant
and immortal
and flakey
and stupid
and immature
and annoying
and disrespectful
and perfect
just like you were
and are.

The author's comments:
I wrote this after talking with a teacher about his experiences with students. He seemed cynical about his students, but told me that each one was as perfect as the next. It got me thinking.

sometimes i want to say this to a few older people i know. it's good. well, the message, not entirely. but i like it anyhow!
