Stars
Illuminating the cobalt blue night sky
As well as the problems in our lives
They shine brightly without the intermission of smoke
But make that continuous and they are unreliable, a taunting joke
They comfort and deceive you all in one
But you submit to them, your tribulations stuck on re-run
Their look contradicts their effect
You grasp this concept; you realize that the world is a wreck
You wince at the notion of deception
You cringe at the thought of fraud
You recoil away from the idea of shame
All this time you thought they were your friends
You were looking through a dirty lens
You look at them with clear new eyes
And you realize that they are nothing except for dying lies.
