Fading Memory -
A dream
Lost in a vast expanse
of memory
How do I know for sure,
just who you are?
I must ask myself:
are you even real?
“I dreamed that you bewitched me
And sung me moon-struck.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)”
In other dreams,
you’ve haunted my mind
Though, I still can’t determine
if you’re the same as others
who share your image
“I fancied you’d return the way you said,
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)”
Dear one,
whom I once loved,
are you real,
or a figment of my own imagination?
I dream
one day soon
I will meet you again
I will then determine
Dream from reality
Until then, I’ll wonder,
exactly what you are,
and who you were to me
all those years ago
