Changing Feelings
You always want what you don’t have
I have felt this feeling many times
But mostly I end up wanting what I had to start
The nagging of siblings and arguments create this feeling
This feeling of wishing you were alone
This feeling of fury and frustration
This feeling that quickly goes away once the outcome actually happens
This feeling happened to me when suddenly three bedrooms of my house became empty
When their mess wasn’t just a pet peeve, it was the life of the room
When the stench of a brother fades away to dust
When instead of walking down the hallway, siblings are across the country
When the lack of nagging turns into loneliness
Suddenly this feeling goes away
You always want what you don’t have
Until you lose what you had
Suddenly this feeling goes away
