Dances with the Shadows of Time

The feet flow to the rhythm of the beat,
a repertoire of ebbs as my partner holds me.
A tight, unrelenting grasp around my waist,
I glide around his feet, spinning.
The music slows and speeds sporadically,
tangos and waltz and ballroom alike.
We dance until our feet blister,
under the weight of our solemnly stares.
The sun fades along the silence of the songs,
and night replaces day as the moon hangs.
I dance unrelenting to my tires and aches,
my forever waltz with the Shadows of Time.
