Ode to the Rain
Rain is the sound of all the things that could have been but never were.
It’s the sound of anxiety running through your mind,
yet the peacefulness of closure after a meltdown.
It’s all of the problems that have ever existed, and the solutions as well.
Rain is the feeling of numbness during a wave of depression,
but rain is also the subtle peace of just living your life the way you were meant to.

For me, rain has always been something that I found so much comfort in.
I sit at windowsills and listen to the rain fall upon different objects, making it sound like the sweetest melody. I watch it slowly invade everything that was once dry and how it makes the temperature drop within such a short amount of time.
It keeps me in awe like a little kid waking up on Christmas morning.
