This Path
This path I tread shall ever be
A weary task in front of me.
My heart may fall but I go on,
‘Till tales of merry youth are gone.
This road I walk shall ever wind.
And though I fall so far behind,
I must continue on this trail
Although my feet still yet may fail.
This song I sing shall lose its rhyme,
It’s melody, rhythm, and time.
But still I’ll sing day after day,
And all that’s left will fade away.
This poem I write shall meet it’s end,
Its meaning lost and purpose bent,
But still the verse sounds in my heart
From weary stop to weary start.

This poem is kind of a metaphor for life, and how it can get hard sometimes but we just need to keep going. My Grandpa just passed away, so that’s why I wrote this poem.
