How could I dare to dream

In the dead of night

When street lamps are dying

By each other’s light

And waste their lives away

For the streets are ever darker

A darkness of the deepest kind

So when another heart is lit

The flame is smothered by the night

Majka is a 17 year old from New York City who loves riding her bike through the city streets to think, and be inspired. She writes poetry for her school’s literary journal, and for her grandparents’ birthdays.
