the sun blinked in and out of the days,

weary clouds slipping through dips of the heart-ridden sky.

air swept into winds, unblemished as homes without running water,

pushing bustling citizens carrying their morning caffeine like a newborn child, swaddled

in the sleeve.

its purpose to protect skin, broken by the fire of sin with no remorse or regret of its behavior.

breaths of poison entering the shapes of our bodies crafted with the power to fix,

and the mind to refuse.

thoughts of purposeful contamination, guilt, shame, coughed out with the smoke.

a prison only ones who spectate can observe.

voices of yearning solutions silenced by the acceptance of pollution,

dripping blood of future generations by the ones who refuse to change

due to the option to say no.

the upcoming lives destined to wither, and the broken future of nature lies in the hands

of the people who say yes.
