World is Just a Dream

What is the world were just a dream, nothing guaranteed.

What if our worries, our sorrow, our pride were merely a dot, a blur, a mere thought in the world.

What if we have just learned to live, but we will never learn to thrive.

Let’s measure our life not by the moments we have succeeded, but by the moments when we tried.

As I look back, I realize I have just begun to be alive.

If our life, or small joys, great sorrows were to be a mere beautiful dream, what would you be?

I know I would be grateful.

The poem took on an anthropological perspective on the purpose of life.

This poem got me thinking.. I especially liked the line: "I realize I have just begun to be alive". It's interesting to see how you feel about that perspective on life.. for me, I think it would be hard to live with that knowledge. I want my life to be going towards something, not ending as nothing, but on the other hand, it would be nice if our mistakes didn't have major consequences, which is the case with dreams. Thank you for sharing this!
