The winter joy,

The grass that has been covered,

The chills you get from the cold glass window,

The frosted flakes that fall, 

The shovels scraping against the snow,

The permafrost cracking,

The icicles that I see above,

The boot prints I see in the snow flurry,

The crystals that fall,

The sky that was once clear,

The sky that is now foggy,

The sun that no longer shines through the clouds,

The cold nights,

The cold mornings,

The snowmen outside,

The lakes covered by an invisible layer,

The animals that are hidden,

The floors that are pure white,

The winter joy,

The trees that are decorated with snow,

The hot chocolate that steams,

The feel of being in the warmth of your blanket all day,

The people with their fur coats, hats, and gloves outside,

The kids that throw snowballs everywhere. This is The Winter Joy,

Where my memories of being a kid are kept,

The memories of having snowball fights with my cousin,

The memories of falling in the snow,

The memories of getting snow thrown in your face,

The memories of catching snow with your tongue.
