Petrichor
Have you ever smelled petrichor?
We experience the smell dozens of times,
but sometimes it's nice to remember
How the sun kisses the land
How the rain holds onto the earth
in a way that releases that sweet petrichor.
How we hold hands against all;
the world, the sun, the stars.
I remind myself this won't matter in the long run
That years will pass with or without this moment
This moment of realization
Where it's just us two
And yet we still hold hands
And yet we still stop to smell the petrichor in the air.
